Your witness and prayers are essential!
The world needs you to stand up for the Truth. The world needs you to call down God's grace.
Do not be intimidated by the prospect of opposing abortion in public. Our witness is peaceful, prayerful and loving, not loud and aggressive.
Our conversations, our prayers change hearts.
It is not by our power, it is by the power of the Holy Spirit.
As. St. John Chrysostom once said:
Do not say: It is impossible for me to influence others. If you are a Christian, it is impossible for this not to happen.
When you come down to pray, you may experience moments of grace.
I remember one time, I saw out of the corner of my eye a young woman and two other adults with her-- I guess they were her parents. They were walking down the street, seemingly headed to Morgentaler's. And she was crying. This was clearly not the path she wanted to take. She talked to the man with her. She stopped. There was hesitation. She didn't want to go in. She cried and she walked past Morgentaler's. The other vigilers with me, we looked at each other. We ramped up our prayers. She walked past the door. She walked all the way to Rideau Street. She turned right.
And I never saw her again.
We don't know the end of the story. But we do know that that baby lived another day.
